چکیده
Abstract To address the difficult problems in study of effect average strain on fatigue life under low-cycle loads, materials different cycle ratios was discussed based framework damage mechanics and its irreversible thermodynamics. By introducing Ramberg-Osgood cyclic constitutive equation, a new prediction method intrinsic dissipation theory considering proposed, which revealed correlation between , material properties, strain. Through analysis test data five metal materials, model parameters corresponding were obtained. The calculation results indicate that proposed is good agreement with test, reasonable characterization influence realized. Comparing calculations three typical models, within two times error band, significantly better than existing more suitable for prediction. critical region power provides idea research metallic materials.

A new low cycle fatigue lifetime prediction model for magnesium alloy based on modified plastic strain energy approach
Nowadays, the technology intends to use materials such as magnesium alloys due to their high strength to weight ratio in engine components. As usual, engine cylinder heads and blocks has made of various types of cast irons and aluminum alloys. However, magnesium alloys has physical and mechanical properties near to aluminum alloys and reduce the weight up to 40 percents. In this article, a new ...

In this paper, low cycle fatigue life of CK45 steel and SS316 stainless steel under strain-controlled loading are experimentally investigated. In addition, the impact of mean strain and strain amplitude on the fatigue life and cyclic behavior of the materials are studied. متن کاملA Fatigue Life Prediction Method Based on Strain Intensity Factor
In this paper, a strain-intensity-factor-based method is proposed to calculate the fatigue crack growth under the fully reversed loading condition. A theoretical analysis is conducted in detail to demonstrate that the strain intensity factor is likely to be a better driving parameter correlated with the fatigue crack growth rate than the stress intensity factor (SIF), especially for some metall...
متن کاملEvaluation of quenching process on low cycle fatigue life for cylinder head
Due to the complex geometry and thermos-mechanical loading, cylinder heads are the most challenging parts among all parts engines. They must endure cyclic thermal and mechanical loading throughout their lifetime. Cast aluminum alloys are normally quenched after solution treatment process to improve aging responses. Rapid quenching can lead to high residual stress. Residual stress is one of the ...
متن کاملAn efficient life prediction methodology for low cycle fatigue–creep based on ductility exhaustion theory
Low cycle fatigue–creep is the main reason for the failures of many engineering components under high temperature and cyclic loading. Based on the exhaustion of the static toughness and dissipation of the plastic strain energy during fatigue failure, a new low cycle fatigue–creep life prediction model that is consistent with the fatigue–creep damage mechanism and sensitive to the fatigue damage...
